Child Sexual Abuse - India

How many of us pause and reflect the impact of children being exposed to private body parts in public domain ? Exhibitiosnm or are we jsut being hyper sensitive. In March this year the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued guidelines - GUIDELINES &PROTOCOLS - Medico-legal care for survivors/victims of Sexual Violence. http://mohfw.nic.in/showfile.php?lid=2737 Pls spread the word among all those you know in health care, since they are all mandated by law to provide medical assistance to any one who has been sexually assaulted. Otherwise they are liable for punishment . Unfortunately a practice which is widely followed though banned by the Supreme Court of India is  the irrational, illogical and unethical  "two finger test"; we hope to see a decrease in this belittling test which is a human rights violation rapidly. A great initiative and an event whose time has come. Mark the dates for next year. The Foundation organized the 1st Annual Stakeholders Conference on Child Sexual Abuse – ASCCSA - at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai on 16th and 17th April 2014. It to brought together like-minded people from across the country to  discuss pressing aspects of CSA. The primary objective was to create a platform for organizations and individuals working on  Child Sexual Abuse to come together to share, learn, work, and build on the work that is currently happening in different parts of the country.The seminar, planned over two days, had different stakeholders presenting their work and experience on CSA, within their area of expertise. And it certainly did!
