Jonathan Picken is currently Chair of the British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (BASPCAN) and an honorary lecturer for the World Health Organisation as well as visiting lecturer at Birmingham and Worcester Universities. He has a great deal of experience of multi disciplinary consortiums and working with a diverse range of professional agencies. With a specific interest in the multi-disciplinary management of child abuse and neglect he is currently Training and Development Adviser for Worcestershire Area Child Protection Committee, located in central England. He began working as a social worker in 1984, in both Adult and Children's Services. Having studied criminology his early career was spent working with young people within the criminal justice system, before going on to work within a local authority child protection team and later in a regional paediatric unit.
